Reality

I have been living under the guilt and heaviness of being an an American and the disaster in Asia.there is an aching in my bones over the realization of the world.

rarely have I realized the extent of our Americanism as I have listened to folks talk about the devestation. "poor folks, so, what are you guys doing for New Year's Eve?"

God that you would help us see past ourselves and our plenty to see the real world.

God bless America? what ever

The thing is that God HAS blessed America, over and over and over again - but the minority of those in America (The Wealthy) that are capable of appreciating that blessing and passing it on to others DO NOT and are shocked when they are asked to do so.
On the flipside of that coin the silent majority of Americans who are willing to help and share that blessing; do so at the cost of their own comfort and protection because they can barely afford to support themselves and their children - let alone send money or goods to foreign countries in need.
This is not to say that NO ONE should help but rather that those who have experienced the greater blessing because of the freedom they have taken advantage of in America - Do Not extend that blessing - and though this is unjust it is not for us to judge.

We can only do what Only We Can Do.

Of course the Bible puts it this way..."Whatever your hand finds to do, do your best."
